Joy of Life

A Family Foursquare Church

The release of God's power is intrinsic to the outpouring of Spirit-led praise and worship. The very heart of worship is the lifting up of God and His nature over our own circumstances and the dailies of life. Through praise and worship, we can exhibit God's heart for a lost and dying world as He heals our hurts, restores our souls and refreshes our spirits. According to the Word of God, worship is evangelistic, a weapon of warfare, and it releases healing and the prophetic ministry of Christ. In Case You Were Wondering about Worship...

Everything we do is founded on the firm belief that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and contains within its pages all of the purposes and principles by which mankind is given to govern his life. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16).

WHY WE PRAY FOR THE SICK...

James 5:13-15 says "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them prayer over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up." Mark 16:17-18 says "And these signs will follow those who believe...They will lay hands on the sick and they will recover."

WHY WE LIFT OUR HANDS IN WORSHIP...

Psalm 134:2 says "Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless the Lord." Psalm 63:3-4 says "Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You...I will lift up my hands in Your name."

WHY WE CLAP OUR HANDS...

Psalm 47:1 says "O clap your hands all you peoples! Shout unto God with a voice of triumph."

WHY WE WORSHIP THE LORD IN DANCE...

Psalm 149:3 says "Let them praise His name with the dance."

Psalm 150:4 says "Praise Him with the timbrel and dance."

Psalm 30:11 says "You have turned my mourning into dancing."

WHY WE SING IN ENGLISH AND IN A SPIRITUAL LANGUAGE...

1 Corinthians 14:14-15 says "For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is the conclusion then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding."
